On Saurday, after a nine hour day of teaching, I was sooo looking forward to a trip to Logan. Dave was giving a concert at the Fine Arts Center under the direction of Craig Jessop. The initial plan was to have Josh go and I would stay at Dave and Lori's house with the kids. Well, Dave and Lori are so generous and arranged everything so that I could go, too. (They are always so hospitable!)
I am so glad I went; it was a wonderful concert. The theme of the concert was centred around the life and influence of Abraham Lincoln. (I feel like Abe and I have a special bond since we share the same birthday :). I also loved seeing Craig Jessop on the stand. The funny thing was, there were some members of the OTS which had been hired to play in the orchestra. Josh and I felt right at home. After the concert we went up to say hi to Meredith Campbell when I felt Lori tap my shoulder. Here came Craig Jessop. I extended my hand and he shook it with eagerness. He is such a personable man. Craig asked Josh and I how we were doing and commented that Josh still had his "halo". It was such a wonderful evening.
The kids had a great time, too. I got to sit by Joseph at the concert while the other kids played nonstop in the basement. "We should do this more often," Josh commented since we all had a great time. After being introduced to the pet rats, eating 3 bowls (yes 3) of butterfinger ice-cream, and looking at some photo books we decided we'd better go. We returned home at 12:30am with four sleeping kids and two happy parents.
