My oldest son gave his book 4 cello recital yesterday. There are times as a mother that you hope you are doing your best, that somehow, somewhere your efforts are magnified for you children's benefit. And then you have those rare moments, like I felt yesterday, that the work is manifested and peace distills. It is not necessarily that the recital was flawless, but rather the development of the child is apparent. When the face of the child shines with determination and a realization that his work has paid off and that he has reached greater heights, that is a moment to cherish.
