Things are looking up. Yesterday, we moved from the PICU to the CSU (Children's Surgical Unit.) We have been treated so well since we have gotten here. The main difference between these areas is the ratio of nurse to patient. In the PICU it is a 1:1 ratio. There is always a nurse at the bedside. Now our nurse has 4-6 patients and they come and go as needed. It is kind of nice to have a little more peace and quiet. Prior to our move, there was a patient that had just been life flighted. You can imagine how the intensity level grew. It was like bees buzzing furiously next door. Lets just say the PICU is certainly the happening place. Now we have a room that is larger, more private, and includes our own bathroom. Robbie seems more comfortable here and even gave his first smile today.
This morning we heard some great news. Robbie may be going home tomorrow!! My jaw about dropped to the floor when I heard this. We expected to be here at least until Friday. As you can see Robbie is recovering very quickly. He will be on oxygen and a feeding tube when we go home,(nothing new to us) but hopefully as his heart gets stronger we will be able to wean him off both of them.
Today Robbie had some visitors. Cristie got to see Robbie for the first time since she arrived into Salt Lake. Some friends of Josh's from BYU Management Society also came to visit Robbie and then took us to lunch in the cafeteria. It was so nice. We are receiving so much support. Well, there 's the update.
December Overview...Closing out 2024

This month, as always, was fuller than most. Besides the usual full life,
we had all the holiday happenings. And also, a totaled car and much
sickness...
