Last Sunday we had the privilege of blessing Robbie in our home. Almost everyone was in town, so we felt this was the time to do it. It was a beautiful night. Joseph. the oldest Gardner Grandson also was ordained to the office of a deacon.
As I looked into the faces of every person there my heart swelled with gratitude for the wonderful family I have.
Things I will remember:
*My parents coming early, bringing everything for cold cuts, and making sure the food was ready
*Seeing Makenzie, Eliza, and Ivy, and Sarah so anxious to hold Robbie
*My dad's homemade Root Beer (made especially due to Rachel's request)
*Rachel had pink eye and had to stay in the back bedroom the entire time (Thanks Joel for all of your medical advice)
*Steve so willingly staying with Rachel and helping her build her Princess Puzzle so I could enjoy the blessing
*Feeding Joshua crackers so that he would stay quiet and happy (thanks Matt and Brit)
*Seeing Ben Miller (Josh's good friend and old business partner) walk in the door and simultaneously having a picture crash down from the wall during the service. :)
*Grandpa Gardner's beautiful closing prayer, which was more like a sermon, one I relish.
*Seeing the strength of each priesthood holder as they held Robbie for his blessing.
*Feeling the strength, power and support of this family
*Cousins playing
*All the help with clean up (Cristie, Lori, my parents, and everyone else - thankyou)
*Lori holding Robbie for the first time - seeing such love in her eyes
*Alina taking pictures
*Emmy eating with Rachel so she would not be alone
*Caitie changing Joshua's messy diaper just prior to the blessing, so I could take care of Robbie
*Brit coming even though she had a recital prior to the blessing
*Feeling the Spirit as Adam, Jarom, Makenzie, and Eliza played "Love is Spoken Here" accompanied by my mom.
*Paper Plates sent by Gammy. We somehow did not have all the paper plates we needed for the blessing. It turns out that Aunt Melie had been going through the home after Gammy's passing and saw bowls, cups, napkins, and paper plates set out on the table. The thought came to Melie that maybe Josh and Melodie needed those. (Amazing!)
*The warmth and spirit that lingered in our living room even after everyone had left

I love his little blessing outfit! Was that made by someone in the family? What a precious little boy you have(in addition to your other cute kiddos) and what a blessing to have such an incredible family!
Actually, I juast got it at the Distribution Center.
It was good to see you on Saturday. Your children are beautiful.
What an amazing evening; it's such a privilege to be part of such a warm, loving, faithful, supportive family. We are so glad Robbie is our nephew :)
You have a beautiful family Melodie! I love how in the family picture, it looks like Josh is flapping his arms. Too cute!
